Overview

Good Family Support Services (GFSS), a  nonprofit home health care agency in Philadelphia, announced the availability of up to  $300,000 in funding to enhance and expand the operational capacity of organizations providing healthcare and related services. This grant is dedicated mainly to the efforts to improve the health and wellbeing of underserved individuals in Pennsylvania by supporting businesses and organizations that address issues that are underfunded or have systemic issues.

"GFSS was formed to produce better healthcare for the people we serve." GFSS’s founder

GFSS recognizes the need for in-home care for many Philadelphia residents. The nonprofit also identifies the huge gap between demand for personalized treatments and the insufficiency of medical or therapeutic professionals as a major threat to city-wide healthcare. As such, GFSS was established to provide families with easy access to local experts who provide quality care routinely or whenever requested.

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, GFSS exercised its authority as Pennsylvania's  #1 home health care agency by contributing significantly to the mitigation of the crisis. Also, with telehealth adoption increasing rapidly within the US, these  grants  come as welcome news to service providers. Now, companies that provide healthcare and other designated services can receive a much-needed financial investment, allowing for the expansion of general health care, preventative health care, housing, youth athletics, financial literacy, economic health/wealth, mental health and overall wellbeing of people in Pennsylvania.

Beginning this year, the Good Family Support Services (GFSS) hopes to expand its efforts to develop, improve, and promote preventative healthcare across the state. It is the organization’s mission to truly impact and renovate the way healthcare is distributed and provided in 2024 and beyond.

GFSS plans to use the funds available (of up to $300,000) to award a high number of grants to active healthcare providers in Pennsylvania. Applicants can apply right here on the GFSS official website.
